The Assistant Police Chief is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Police Department with a commitment to customer service and problem solving in partnership with the community. The successful candidate will be a proven leader, experienced in delivering community oriented police services, with the ability to create a mutually respectful and collaborative leadership environment. Requirements: candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of ten years of law enforcement experience with at least two years as a captain, major or commander in a progressive law enforcement agency.
