Training & Convention

presented by

the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association,

the Montana Association of Chiefs of Police,

and the Montana Police Protective Association

Training provided by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s Rural Policing Institute

June 22 – 25, 2010 • Helena, Montana

We hope you will be as excited as we are about the convention we’ve put together for you this year. Before you close this window because you think you can’t afford it or can’t get away, STOP and READ!

  • The training is going to be top-notch. It’s provided by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s (FLETC) Rural Policing Institute. The subject matter and the trainers are excellent. There is a link to the Trainer Bios at the bottom of the page.

  • If you are a city or county with fewer than 50,000 people, your officers will be eligible to have their sleeping rooms paid for, for three nights. Eligibility requirements are on the Registration form, which is at the bottom of the page.

  • The registration fee of $150 will cover convention meals, receptions, and a ticket to the Helena Brewers baseball game. (Wednesday night will be Law Enforcement Night at the ball park).

  • All officers attending the training MUST display their law enforcement IDs. This includes detention officers. If any of your officers who want to attend do not have one of these IDs, you will need to get that taken care of prior to their attendance.

These are the basics. If you have questions after you’ve looked over the materials below, please do not hesitate to call. The telephone number at convention headquarters is 406-443-5669.
