Ronald Gusick "Shane"
Ronald "Shane" Gusick, 42, an Air Force veteran and Cascade County detention officer, died Oct. 30 at his home. The family chooses not to release the cause of death.
Burial will take place in Carter Cemetery. A celebration of his life is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Schnider Funeral Home. A dedication of the grave by a traditional Roman Catholic priest will take place at a later date. Shane was born July 24, 1967, in Great Falls, the son of Ronald L. and Joan Gusick. He graduated from high school in Fort Benton. After entering the Air Force, he was stationed in Korea and Alaska, and did two tours in Turkey. Following his discharge, he attended the College of Great Falls, where he received a bachelor's degree. Shane had worked for the Cascade County Sheriff's Office as a senior detention officer.
An avid Vikings fan, Shane also loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his parents, Ronald L. Gusick and Joan Gusick of Great Falls; his brothers, Chuck and Diane Gusick and family and Marty and Jocinda Gusick and family of Great Falls; two sisters, Kimberly and Vern Burdick and family of Fort Benton, and Bambi Hurley and family of Great Falls.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Billie Zane.
